1.2 million liters of stolen oil were seized in operations against oil smugglers in Nigeria.
Nigerian Army Deputy Director of Public Relations Danjuma Jonah Danjuma stated that the army was continuing its operations against oil smugglers in the country’s oil region of the Niger Delta.
Noting that 56 more illegal oil refining facilities were destroyed in the operations, Danjuma said, “1.2 million liters of stolen oil were seized.” It was reported that 17 oil smugglers were detained and 20 boats belonging to the smugglers were seized during the operations.
