The Israeli army has once again attacked the Jibaliya Refugee Camp in the northern Gaza Strip, which it has been keeping under intense attack and siege. Seven Palestinians who were forcibly removed from the school where they had taken refuge here were targeted with artillery shells and killed, while many others were injured.
Israeli forces forcibly removed the Palestinians displaced in the Jibaliya Refugee Camp from the school run by the United Nations Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) where they had taken refuge. The Israeli army targeted the Palestinians it had forced out of with artillery shells, killing 7 of them and injuring many others. Kemal Advan Hospital authorities reported that 7 Palestinians who were killed in the attack and many injured were brought to the hospital.
PLAN TO FORCE PALESTINIANS TO MIGRATE The Israeli army, which carried out intense air strikes on northern Gaza, especially the Jibaliya Refugee Camp, on October 5, launched a ground assault on the areas in question on October 6. It is thought that this step was taken in order to evacuate Palestinians from northern Gaza in order to prepare settlement areas for Israelis, as previously reflected in the Israeli press and known as the “generals’ plan.”
IS THE “GENERALS’ PLAN” BEING IMPLEMENTED? In a statement he made on his social media account on October 7, Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned Palestinians in Beit Hanun, Jibaliya and Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip and shared a map of the areas they were asked to evacuate. The map shared by Adraee, who called on Palestinians to go to the Mevasi region in southern Gaza, was strikingly similar to the “generals’ plan” for the forced displacement of Palestinians, which was prepared at the initiative of former Israeli army Operations Department Director General Giora Eiland and presented to the government. While the Israeli government did not make a statement regarding the plan that was reflected in the press last month, it was announced in a report by Israeli state television KAN in September that the cabinet was examining the plan.
