Kremlin breaks North Korea silence: “Nobody should worry”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov broke his silence on the issue of military support from North Korea, which has been on the agenda frequently in recent days. Stating that Russia was developing cooperation with North Korea in every field, Peskov said, “This should not worry anyone because this cooperation is not against third countries.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made assessments to journalists regarding the military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. Reminding that North Korea is Russia’s closest neighbor and partner, Peskov stated that the two countries were developing relations in every field and that this was their sovereign right. Peskov said, “This should not worry anyone because this cooperation is not in return for third countries. We will develop this cooperation further.”

IS THE NORTH KOREAN ARMY IN RUSSIA? Drawing attention to the contradictory information regarding the claim that the North Korean army is in Russia, Peskov said, “We are seeing a lot of contradictory information. The South Koreans say one thing, then the Pentagon announces that they do not confirm such statements. This is probably how we need to approach this.” When asked whether the North Korean army is in Russia and whether it participated in the “special military operation” in Ukraine, Spokesman Peskov replied, “This is a question about the conduct of the special military operation. You need to contact the Ministry of Defense.”
