First reactions to Gladiator 2: “An epic movie!”

The countdown has begun for Gladiator 2, which is preparing to return to the silver screen with Ridley Scott’s signature. The first reactions have arrived to the sequel of the 5-time Oscar-winning Gladiator (2000).

Master director Ridley Scott is bringing the famous “Gladiator” film, which won five Oscars and earned the lead actor Russell Crowe the Best Actor Oscar, back to the silver screen after 24 years. The countdown has begun for “Gladiator 2”, which includes names such as Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn.
The first reviews from critics have arrived for the film, which is set to meet its audience on November 15.

OffScreenCentral’s Jillian Chilingerian said, “Start putting Denzel Washington’s name on the Oscar for best supporting actor for ‘Gladiator 2’ right away.” Scott Mantz called the film “an epic sequel” and noted that it featured “amazing action, incredible visual effects, and incredible performances.”

Simon Thompson wrote, “Gladiator II is the ultimate feast of epic action and exquisite betrayal.” L.A. The Times’ Matt Brennan called the film “completely bonkers.”
The film tells the story of Lucilla’s son Lucius, during the post-Commodus era when the empire passes to the Severans.

Australian actor Russel Crowe, who played Maximus in the first film, will not be in the new Gladiator film

The film’s lead actor, Paul Mescal, plays the adult version of Lucius, Lucilla’s son in the first Gladiator film. Gladiator 2 is about 16 years after the events of the first film. Emperor Geta will be played by Joseph Quinn, who made a name for himself with the Stranger Things series. Pedro Pascal plays a general named Marcus Acacius. Washington plays Macrinus.
On the other hand, Ridley Scott spoke about Gladiator 3. Scott said, “I’ve already got 8 pages. I’ve got the beginnings of a very good footprint. If there’s a Gladiator 3, I don’t think you’ll ever go back to the arena. But I had to go back to the arena.” A few months ago, Ridley Scott said, “I’ve already started working on the idea of Gladiator 3. Seriously! I’ve lit the fuse.” The Oscar-nominated director said, “The end of Gladiator II is Michael Corleone working in a job he doesn’t want and saying, ‘So, Father, what am I going to do?’ “It’s reminiscent of ‘The Godfather’ in that he thinks, ‘What’s the big deal?’ So the next movie is going to be about a guy who doesn’t want to stay where he is.”
