Local authorities said in a statement that Manfri lost his life despite all efforts.
Condolences were shared on social media about Manfri, who was both a surf instructor and the founder of surf travel agency AWAVE. AWAVE said in a statement, “Giulia was surfing in Indonesia and had a freak accident. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of doctors, she could not be saved. We believe she died doing what she loved, in the place she loved.”
