Scandal from Israeli journalist: He blew up a building in Lebanon

Israeli Channel 12 television presenter Dany Cushmaro pressed the button that would detonate explosives in a building in the village of Ayta ash Shab in southern Lebanon. Cushmaro then smiled at the camera and said, “Don’t mess with the Jews.”

One of Israel’s best-known television journalists, Dany Cushmaro, has caused a scandal in Lebanon.

Cushmaro, a presenter on Channel 12, Israel’s most popular news channel, has been reporting on Israel’s war on Gaza since the early hours of October 7, 2023.

According to the Haaretz newspaper, during the first few days he took a critical stance against the Hamas offensive and criticized the government for failing to protect citizens at home.

Cushmaro later adapted to the war by participating in Israeli military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. According to the Haaretz newspaper, he quickly became “a useful part of the propaganda machine.”

Over the weekend, Channel 12 broadcast Cushmaro detonated explosives in a building in the southern Lebanese village of Ayta ash Shab he reported that he pressed a button.

Cushmaro appeared to be having fun while doing this, and later smiled for the camera and said, “Don’t mess with the Jews.”

“SHE IS PRESENTING THE PALESTINIAN AND LEBANESE PEOPLE AS AGGRESIVE”

According to another Israeli publication, Haaretz, Cushmaro’s reporting from the battlefield has always been problematic.

Haaretz included the following statements in its report about Cushmaro: “He talks about how proud he is of Israeli soldiers, idolizes the sacrifices they make for their country and describes how enjoyable it is to see an area that once posed a threat to Israel turned into ruins.”

“The local population, whether Gazan or Lebanese, is not featured in this type of reporting,” Haaretz said.

“But Cushmaro tends to portray them as bloodthirsty, greedy, religious fanatics who, when they could have lived a wonderful, peaceful life, would rather attack innocent Israel and bring destruction upon themselves. In short, Cushmaro’s reporting is propaganda. It’s just a coincidence that his salary comes from a private independent media company, not the Israeli army.”
