The Israeli army, which has been engaging in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Lebanon’s southern cities as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions on September 23. According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, a total of 2,822 people, including 104 children and 194 women, have been killed and 12,937 people injured since October 8, 2023. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in the Israeli army’s airstrikes on Beirut on September 27. Hezbollah is responding with rockets and missiles against Israel. No major damage has been reported in these attacks, which mostly target army bases on the Israeli side. It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced in Lebanon due to Israeli bombardment. As the wave of migration from the southern parts of the country to the capital Beirut and the north continues, the Lebanese government announced that more than 518,000 of the displaced people have migrated to Syria.
