Ukrainian authorities issued an air strike alert covering the entire country today.

Chief of the General Staff Andriy Yermak warned of a missile attack on the capital Kiev.
Yermak said in a post on the Telegram messaging app, “Putin is currently launching a missile attack on Kiev.”

The Ukrainian air force announced in the early hours that a missile entered the country’s airspace and was headed toward the capital.

“Attention! There is a missile heading toward the Kiev region in the Chernihiv region,” the statement said.
The attack follows a week of relentless attacks, including one on the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that killed a 32-year-old mother and her three children.

Moscow and Kiev launched record-breaking overnight drone strikes on each other over the weekend. Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing a force of about 50,000 soldiers, including North Korean fighters, to remove Ukrainian forces from Russia’s Kursk region.
According to the Ukrainian military, in the first missile attack in more than two months, Russia used ballistic missiles along with guided missiles launched from strategic warplanes.
No casualties or injuries have yet been reported.
Russia launched an attack on Ukraine on August 26 with more than 200 drones and missiles. Seven people were killed in the attack, and energy facilities across the country were also targeted. Kiev described it as “the largest offensive of the war.”
