WHO condemns killing of 12 health workers in Lebanon

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus condemned the killing of 12 healthcare workers in an attack by the Israeli army near the city of Baalbek, Lebanon. Drawing attention to the fact that attacks on healthcare services have become normal, the official said, “This must stop.”

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reacted to the Israeli army’s recent attack near the city of Baalbek in Lebanon, killing 12 healthcare workers.

“THIS MUST STOP”

Ghebreyesus shared the following on his social media account: “We condemn the attack on the Lebanese Civil Defense Center in the village of Doures in Baalbek, which killed at least 12 healthcare workers. The center suffered extensive damage. Attacks on healthcare services are becoming normal during conflicts. This must stop, everywhere!”
