UNIFIL headquarters hit by unexploded artillery shell in southern Lebanon

It was announced that an unexploded artillery shell hit the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Peace Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, UNIFIL announced that the shell that fell on the UNIFIL headquarters in the town of Shema in southern Lebanon did not explode and caused no injuries but caused minor material damage. It was reported that the area was quickly secured and the shell was detonated in a controlled manner by bomb disposal experts. FRENCH UNIFIL SOLDIER DIED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT In another statement, UNIFIL reported that a convoy heading to the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura, southern Lebanon, had a traffic accident near the town of Shema. It was reported that a French peacekeeper died and three people were slightly injured in the traffic accident on the coastal road.
