People in Haiti Revolt: Gang Members Burned Alive!

28 gang members were killed in a clash with police in Haiti. According to local press, civilians also set 20 gang members, including those injured, on fire. Due to the clashes, schools, workplaces and public buildings were closed, and people were unable to leave their homes out of fear.

A clash broke out between the police and gang members who wanted to take control of the Nazon, Lalue, Chirst Roi and Bois Verna regions of the capital Port-au-Prince in Haiti. In the clash that lasted for hours, 28 gang members lost their lives.
National Police Spokesperson Lionel Lazarre announced to the press that gang members tried to take control of some areas, but security forces did not allow this.
According to local media, civilians set fire to 20 gang members, including those who were injured.
Schools, workplaces and public buildings were out of service due to the clashes, and people were unable to leave their homes out of fear. Some posts on social media reported that armed gangs were making extensive preparations for a new attack.
According to the United Nations Integrated Office for the Caribbean (BINUH), at least 1,223 people lost their lives and 522 were injured as a result of violence and gang fighting in Haiti between July and September alone.
