British police carried out a controlled explosion while investigating a suspicious package report near the US Embassy in London. On the other hand, police announced that a suspicious prohibited item was found in a baggage at Gatwick Airport. Bomb disposal teams have reportedly been dispatched to the airport.

British police carried out a controlled explosion near the US Embassy in London today while investigating a suspicious package report.

No one was injured in the explosion, but a road on the west side of the embassy was closed.
London Metropolitan Police Service announced that the investigation into the incident is continuing.

The embassy said in a statement via X, “Local authorities are investigating a suspicious package in front of the US Embassy in London. The Met Police are at the scene and have closed Ponton Road as a precaution.”
In other news, British police reported that a suspicious prohibited item was found in luggage at Gatwick airport.

Police have sent an explosives disposal team to the airport.
It was announced that a security cordon was established at the southern terminal of the airport. />
