Humanity writes its history on diamonds! It is possible to store information for millions of years

Scientists have achieved a record-breaking success. Using lasers to make room for atomic-sized files, researchers discovered that they can store information on diamond optical disks for millions of years. The diamond optical disk recorded data with more than 99 percent accuracy. Recent scientific developments show that the only impressive feature of diamonds is not their durability, but also their data storage ability.

Diamonds are not only a luxury item; they are also one of the hardest natural substances in existence.
These products, which attract attention with their brightness, are used as vital components in many industrial drills, medical devices and even space-grade materials.
Recent scientific developments show that it is not only their durability that is impressive, but also their data storage capabilities.
According to a study published in the journal Nature Photonics, researchers at the University of Science and Technology of China have achieved a record storage capacity of 1.85 terabytes per cubic centimeter using diamond disks.
Scientists have dislodged some carbon atoms in diamonds using ultrafast laser pulses. This opened up empty spaces, each with a fixed brightness level.
The researchers then stored some artists’ works by matching the brightness of each pixel to the brightness level of a specific region. The diamond optical disk recorded data with more than 99 percent accuracy.
Diamonds are unlikely to replace everyday storage devices.

But their longevity could benefit governments and research organizations.
