Explosion in apartment building in Netherlands: Three dead

Three people were reported dead in an explosion that occurred in a three-storey building in The Hague, capital of the Netherlands.

An explosion has hit an apartment building in The Hague, capital of the Netherlands.

In a written statement made by The Hague Fire Brigade, it was stated that an explosion occurred in a three-storey apartment building in the city of The Hague at 06:15 local time. The statement stated that part of the apartment building collapsed and a fire broke out as a result of the explosion. The Hague Mayor Jan van Zanen said in a statement that three bodies had been pulled from the rubble, three injured people, one seriously, had been taken to hospital and that more people were believed to be under the rubble. Authorities said the cause of the explosion had not yet been determined and that the investigation was ongoing.
