The Israeli army used remote-controlled old armored personnel carriers filled with tons of explosives to detonate traps set by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip. The army reportedly used remote-controlled M113 armored personnel carriers filled with explosives to destroy explosive-laden areas in Gaza. It was noted that the Israeli army had previously used this method against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.
