Giant waves sank boats in the severe storm that affected the Piura coast of Peru.
The storm, which affected the El Nuro coast in the northwestern Piura region of Peru, the South American country, negatively affected life.
Giant waves that formed at sea sank boats and caused major damage to more than 25 boats. More than 100 fishermen were stranded at sea and called for emergency help.
Authorities said the adverse weather conditions would continue until January 1 and decided to temporarily close 81 ports, 43 in the north and 38 in the center. Beaches were also closed to the public.
