Voice recordings of the attacker who shed blood in the US have emerged: Striking “alcohol” detail

Three voice recordings belonging to Şemseddin Cabbar, who killed 15 people by driving a truck into the New Year’s celebrations in the US state of New Orleans, have been obtained. About a year before the attack, Cabbar had expressed his belief that music, intoxicants, sex and other pleasures were “evil things that deserve to be destroyed,” and had previously been convicted of drunk driving.

Details continue to emerge regarding Şemseddin Cabbar, who killed 14 people by driving a pickup truck bearing the flag of the terrorist organization ISIS into a crowd celebrating New Year’s Eve in New Orleans.
About a year before the attack, Cabbar had expressed his belief that music, intoxicants, sex and other pleasures were “evil things that deserve to be destroyed.”
An account opened under the name “Jabbar” on the SoundCloud platform released three recordings, each about 20 minutes long, containing this and other radical views. According to the Guardian newspaper, the voice in the recordings matches the voice heard in a video promoting the real estate business that Cabbar runs.
In a statement made yesterday by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, referring to reports that Cabbar had previously been accused of behaviors that he had condemned in the recordings, such as drunk driving and abusing his wife, the following was said: “His crime is the latest example of why cruel, ruthless, bottom-feeding extremist groups are rejected by the overwhelming majority of the Muslim world, from Islamic scholars to mosques, from organizations to individual Muslims.” The council continued by saying, “We strongly condemn this crime and stand in solidarity with the people of New Orleans,” and called on investigators to come forward with anyone who could help catch Jabbar’s possible accomplices.
In another recording, Jabbar says, “Allah says, ‘Save those who believe and do righteous deeds… They will be given the good news of Paradise with all its blessings and pleasures, without any interruption.’”
Jabbar’s rhetoric then escalates.
US President Joe Biden said the FBI told him and White House aides that agents had detected that just hours before the attack, Jabbar “had posted videos on social media suggesting he was inspired by ISIS and expressed a desire to kill.”
CNN Internationali reported speaking to two officials briefed on the videos. In them, Jabbar spoke of getting divorced and of plans to gather his family for a celebration before the killing. But CNN reported that Jabbar later said he had dreams about why he should join ISIS and eventually changed his plans to become part of the terrorist group.
Punchbowl News reported yesterday that Jabbar posted five videos on Facebook the morning before the New Orleans attack, citing a source who was briefed. “In the first video, he declared his commitment to the ISIS ideology, and in the second, he ‘manifested his will.’” Jabbar has complained in court filings that one of his two divorces made it difficult for him to pay off his mortgage.
Other legal issues include a DUI conviction and, first reported by TMZ, a restraining order filed by his ex-wife, who claims he was abusive.
