His lawyer submitted a legal petition to the court stating that Trump “opposes the ban on TikTok” and “seeks the authority to solve problems through political means after taking office.” The meeting came a week after Trump met with TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

At a Supreme Court hearing last week, the justices appeared inclined to uphold the law and meet the deadline. During the nearly three-hour arguments, the nine justices repeatedly cited national security concerns.
