US businessman Elon Musk joined the far-right populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party’s election campaign meeting in Halle via livestream.

Addressing the participants, Musk argued that AfD is Germany’s hope.

Praising AfD and the party’s election program, Musk said, “Fight for a great future for Germany.” AfD prime ministerial candidate Alice Weidel thanked Musk and wished the government under US President Donald Trump well.

Musk had previously broadcasted live with AfD party Co-Chair Weidel on the X platform he owns.
European leaders accused Musk of interfering in their internal affairs.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz criticized Musk in an interview, saying, “He is using his newly acquired media power to intervene in the entire world.” Scholz stated that Musk’s partisanship in favor of the far-right parties upset him, and said, “This endangers democracy and coexistence in Europe.” He used the expressions.
