Ukrainian Special Forces have seized a number of important items and documents during an operation in the Kursk region of Russia. Seven Russian and two North Korean soldiers lost their lives as a result of the operation, while the Ukrainian side announced in a statement that the “Russian loot” could be used as leverage in negotiations. The seized items also include items belonging to a North Korean soldier and pieces of paper with handwriting in Korean.

Ukraine had announced that North Korean soldiers were withdrawing after suffering heavy losses for weeks. However, Kiev is expecting more troops sent from Pyongyang to be deployed in the region. KURSK ATTACK WAS PREDICTABLE According to secret documents obtained in recent months, Russia predicted Ukraine’s surprise Kursk attack months in advance. The documents contain months of warnings about Ukraine’s possible advance and reveal concerns about troop morale. According to these documents, Russia’s military command anticipated Ukraine’s intervention in the Kursk region and planned for months to prevent it.
