Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has arrived in Syria, where the Assad regime was overthrown.
Al Thani was welcomed by Syrian President Ahmed Shara upon his arrival at Damascus International Airport.
Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed al-Bashir, Foreign Minister Assad Hassan Shaybani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and many officials from the Qatari Embassy in Damascus also attended the welcome at the airport.
Al Thani became the first leader to visit Syria after the Assad regime.
