Iraqi authorities seized 5 billion Syrian lira in a truck in the Kirkuk region of northern Iraq.
The Iraqi Interior Ministry announced that 5 billion Syrian lira hidden in a truck was seized as part of an operation in the northern city of Kirkuk.
Ministry of Interior Spokesperson Mikdad Miri said in a statement, “In an operation conducted by units affiliated to the Department of Control Affairs in Kirkuk province, five billion Syrian liras worth of money hidden in a truck while passing a checkpoint in Kirkuk were seized.”
The Ministry of Interior Spokesperson stated that the truck driver and the person with him were arrested.
