US e-commerce giant Amazon announced that it will invest another $4 billion in artificial intelligence company Anthropic.
In the statement made by the company, it was conveyed that Amazon and Anthropic have deepened their strategic cooperation. The statement reported that Amazon will invest another $4 billion in Anthropic. It was stated in the statement that Amazon Web Services (AWS), Anthropic’s primary cloud provider, will now also be its primary training partner, and that it will use “AWS Trainium and Inferentia” chips to train and implement its future core models. Amazon first announced a $1.25 billion investment in Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup founded by former OpenAI executives, in September 2023. The e-commerce giant invested another $2.75 billion in March, bringing its total investment in Anthropic to $4 billion. With the new financing, Amazon’s total investment in Anthropic has increased to $8 billion.
