Another bomb alert in England: Train station evacuated

A controlled explosion was carried out by police near Euston train station in England. While the British press announced that the station was evacuated, it was later reported that the police cordon placed nearby was lifted.

Police stated that they had reached London following the investigation of a suspicious package. The capital’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement on the social media platform X. “A controlled explosion was carried out by specialist officers and the police cordons have now been lifted.” LBC News had previously reported that the station had been evacuated. Police had previously said they were aware of reports online of an incident “in the vicinity of Euston Station” and that cordons had been put in place as a precaution.

The update said those cordons had now been removed.

Yesterday, British police carried out a controlled explosion near the US Embassy in London while investigating a suspicious package report.

Meanwhile, police announced that a suspicious prohibited item had been found in luggage at Gatwick Airport and bomb disposal teams had been dispatched to the airport.
