The Ukrainian army has conducted a new operation in Russian territory in Kursk. In this operation, troops attacked the Russian command center. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that dozens of North Korean officers were killed in the attack and that these were key figures. Kiev hopes to use its presence in Kursk Oblast effectively in potential peace talks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced to The Associated Press that dozens of Russian and North Korean officers were killed in an attack on a Russian command center in Ukraine’s Kursk Oblast. “Our army carried out a powerful operation — they attacked the central command center in the Kursk direction. Russia and North Korea lost key officers,” Zelenskyy said. The attack targeted the command center of the Kursk Forces Command in the city of Rylsk, about 25 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

“OUR MILITARY TARGET WAS A FAIR TARGET” “This was our military objective, a fair target. Our side launched a missile strike, a complex attack,” Zelenskyy said. Kiev hopes to use its presence in Kursk Oblast effectively in potential peace talks. Last fall, North Korean troops were deployed to the region to support Russian forces against any possible intervention in Ukraine. Numerous North Korean soldiers have since died in the fighting, but Ukrainian leader Zelenskyy has spoken for the first time about the loss of key senior officials.
