Biden regrets dropping out of race: ‘I could have beaten Trump’

Current US President Joe Biden regrets withdrawing from the race. According to the American newspaper Washington Post, Biden believes that if he had not succumbed to pressure and withdrawn from the race, he could have defeated Donald Trump in the White House race.

It is claimed that Joe Biden regrets withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and believes that he could have defeated Donald Trump in the White House race. The outgoing president withdrew from the race in the summer due to his unsuccessful result in the first debate against his Republican opponent, low approval ratings and decreasing donations. But Biden said he was confident he could beat Trump in November despite the problems facing his campaign, sources close to him told The Washington Post.

A ROW OF WRONG DECISIONS After Biden’s poor June 27 debate performance, calls for him to drop out of the race grew louder among Democrats, and Biden finally announced his withdrawal on July 21. His belated decision to endorse Kamala Harris left the vice president with just three months to mount a campaign against Trump. He ultimately lost to Trump in every contested state and lost the popular vote by 2.2 million. Biden declined to blame Harris for his withdrawal, but told advisers he would have won “if he had run,” the newspaper reported.
