Canada’s state response to Trump: They painted the Canadian flag in the air

With the executive order he signed on February 1, US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 25 percent customs duty on imports from Canada and Mexico, and a 10 percent customs duty on imports from China. Canada responded to Trump’s sanctions by drawing the Canadian flag in the air at the US border. Trump also made statements that drew reaction that Canada should be their 51st state.

The customs duty crisis between Canada and the US continues. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the additional customs duties imposed by US President Donald Trump have been temporarily suspended.

Following his meeting with Trump, Trudeau said that the 25 percent customs duty imposed by the US on Canada would be suspended for at least 30 days in response to the measures they will take to increase border security.
