Ceasefire in Lebanon: First statement from Hezbollah, intimidation from Israel

The statement emphasized that Israel’s withdrawal process from southern Lebanon was being closely followed and said, “Our fighters’ eyes will be on the enemy’s movements beyond the border and the withdrawal process, while their hands will remain alert to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty.” were included.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz also issued a statement regarding the ceasefire agreement that went into effect in Lebanon.
In his statement, he referred to the decision to keep schools in the Golan Heights and northern border regions closed despite the ceasefire. Katz, referring to the ceasefire agreement, said: “The decision not to lift defense restrictions and not to return life to normal in the Galilee and the northern regions is a necessary precautionary step and a clear message about Israel’s determination to implement the agreement.”
Warning Hezbollah and the Lebanese government to comply with the ceasefire agreement, Katz said: “If Hezbollah’s attempts to violate the agreement continue and the Lebanese government does not fulfill its obligations, Israel is prepared to respond forcefully.” he said.
Emphasizing that they “will not give up,” Katz added that they will not compromise on the security of the Israeli people.
Ceasefire ends more than 14 months of clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in Lebanon The agreement entered into force early yesterday.
Hezbollah’s reaction to the ceasefire agreement, which envisages Israel gradually withdrawing its troops south of the Blue Line and the Lebanese army deploying troops to southern Lebanon, had been a matter of curiosity.
