According to the news by Chinese agency Xinhua, the satellite was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sicuan Province with a “Long March-3B” carrier rocket. The satellite, which has reportedly settled into its planned orbital position, is intended to be used for testing and verification of satellite communications, radio and television broadcasts, data transmission and other services. The launch was the 554th successful payload mission using “Long March” rockets.
