Disaster was narrowly avoided: A plane’s tire burst while landing

A tire on a Japan Airlines passenger plane burst while landing at Haneda Airport. Luckily, no one was killed or injured in the incident, but 15 flights were delayed because the runway was closed for about 25 minutes.

A disaster was narrowly averted at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.

One of the left tires of the Boeing 737-800 type plane, flight number JL182 belonging to Japan Airlines (JAL) and taking off from Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture, burst during landing.

THERE WERE 65 PEOPLE ON THE PLANE

Despite the accident, the plane safely completed its landing at around 09:25, and no one was killed or injured among the 65 passengers and crew on the plane at the time of the incident.

It was reported that the plane pulled over to the taxiway and docked on the apron after the tire was changed.

RUNWAY CLOSED TO AIR TRAFFIC Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism announced that 15 flights were delayed due to the runway being closed to air traffic for approximately 25 minutes. It was reported that 2 flights expected to take place today with the same aircraft were canceled. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
