Eight Austrian soldiers wounded in rocket attack in Lebanon

Eight Austrian soldiers serving with the United Nations Peace Force in Lebanon were wounded in a rocket attack on Camp Naqoura near the Israeli border. Austria has called for the attack to be investigated immediately.

The Austrian Ministry of Defence announced that eight Austrian soldiers serving with the United Nations Peace Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured in a rocket attack on Camp Naqoura near the Israeli border.

The ministry, which reported that the soldiers suffered “slight and superficial” injuries, reacted to the attack.

“We condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms and demand its immediate investigation,” the ministry said, adding that it was not clear where the attack came from.

It was stated that none of the soldiers required urgent medical care.
