NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is in Ankara for official contacts.
Rutte met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as part of his first visit to Ankara since taking office. It was reported that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler will also attend the meeting.
Speaking ahead of the meetings, Rutte said, “I look forward to meeting with President Erdoğan to address the challenges to our common security.”
The NATO leader also stated in his statement, “In an increasingly unpredictable world, Turkey is making invaluable contributions to our alliance, strengthening deterrence on our southern flank.”
