Watching foreign movies or listening to foreign music in North Korea can send citizens to jail.
Most of the content that is allowed to be broadcast and watched is controlled by the government.
It is forbidden to fall asleep during a meeting with Kim Jong-Un. This behavior, which is considered disloyalty to the leader, can lead to the death penalty.
In North Korea, citizens are also prohibited from cutting their hair as they wish.
Men and women must choose one of 28 haircuts approved by the government and wear it.
According to a law enacted in 2020, it is illegal to watch or distribute entertainment programs broadcast by South Korea. Consuming these contents can also result in the death penalty.
North Korean citizens are also prohibited from leaving the country without permission.

Citizens who undergo strict inspections can only leave the country if they can get approval from the government.
