France delivers first Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine

France has delivered the first “Mirage 2000” fighter jets to Ukraine in order to support Ukraine’s air defense. No details were given about the number of fighter jets sent. Ukraine received the first shipment of US-made F-16 fighter jets last August.

Western countries continue to provide military aid to Ukraine in its war against Russia.

French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced on his social media account that the first batch of French-made “Mirage 2000-5” fighter jets have been delivered to Ukraine in order to support Ukraine’s air defense.

Minister Lecornu shared, “French President Emmanuel Macron announced that French Mirage 2000s would be delivered to Ukraine on June 6, 2024. The first of these arrived in Ukraine today. The planes, which will be used by Ukrainian pilots who received months of training in France, will now defend the skies of Ukraine.”

No details were given regarding the number of warplanes sent to Ukraine.

Ukraine received its first shipment of US-made F-16 warplanes last August.
