He had 212 million followers: LeBron James quits social media

NBA superstar LeBron James announced that he has decided to temporarily withdraw from social media to express his sadness at the negative coverage of basketball and sporting achievements in the American media.

Los Angeles Lakers and NBA star LeBron James announced in a statement that he will be leaving social networking sites until further notice after participating in a broadcast targeting the “negative” coverage of basketball in the American media.
James, who has a total of 212 million followers on Instagram and X, reposted a post by Rich Kleiman, NBA star Kevin Durant’s longtime agent.
Sharing Rich Kleiman’s post and writing “Amen”, Lebron replied under his post, “I salute you all as I say these! I’m quitting social media for now. “Everyone take care of yourselves,” he added in a second message. “With all the hate and negativity in the world today, I still don’t understand why so many in the national sports media think negative coverage of sports is the best way to go,” Kleiman wrote in his post.
The 39-year-old, who became the first player to score more than 40,000 points in the NBA, explained that he usually stays away from the platforms to focus on his sport.
