Mohammed al-Bashir was elected as the prime minister of the transitional government in Syria yesterday.
The decision was taken following a meeting between the armed opposition’s operational commander Mohammed al-Jolani, al-Bashir and the regime’s former prime minister Mohammed al-Jalali, who was tasked with running the government.
Seeing the transition period in Damascus as an opportunity, Israel began occupying Syria. The Israeli army hit nearly 300 targets in Syrian territory in two days.
While it was reported that Israeli forces approached as close as 25 kilometers to Damascus, the army spokesman denied these claims.
