Iran has denied claims that Tesla and SpaceX CEO and also the owner of X, American billionaire Elon Musk, who is expected to be appointed as the head of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the US, met with Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Emir Saeed Yerevani.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakçi made a statement regarding the claims on a state television program he attended, saying, “There was absolutely no such meeting. This is a fabricated news put out by the US press.”
Arakçi said, “The news appeared in the press at 1 a.m. Iranian time. I saw the news in question in the morning and did not evaluate it seriously. We did not see it as a claim at a level to be responded to until noon. We waited for morning in New York. I know that such a meeting could not have been held without our knowledge. In the meeting we held with our UN representative, it was stated that this was a fabricated news put out by the US press. “I immediately gave the order to deny the news in question,” he said. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bekayi stated in a statement on the subject that the meeting in question definitely did not take place, and expressed that they were surprised by the propaganda created by the US media on this subject.
