Is X coming to an end? Trump-Musk friendship suffered the biggest loss in history

X’s owner, Elon Musk, played an important role in Donald Trump’s victory in the US general elections. Following these events, X experienced the biggest loss of users in the platform’s history. Musk was appointed as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency by Trump after the election, while it was recorded that the rival social media platform Bluesky gained 1 million users in 24 hours.

X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced the biggest user loss in its history after the elections in the USA.
Bluesky, which emerged as a competitor to X, reached 16 million users and gained 1 million new users in 24 hours last week.
Hundreds of thousands of US users have left the X platform since Donald Trump’s election victory on November 6.
The reason for these user losses is shown as X’s owner Elon Musk.
Musk, the richest man in the world, played a key role in Trump’s election victory by transforming the social media platform.
Trump had reportedly appointed Musk to head the “Department of Government Efficiency.” Musk is now at the heart of the US government and does not need Senate approval for his actions.
He is also able to continue his leadership in the private sector with Tesla, SpaceX and X.
Thus, for the first time, a tech billionaire is in a position of influence not only through the media, but also directly on democracy.
Musk stated in a post in 2022 that “Twitter must be politically neutral to deserve public trust.”
However, after Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion, he fired content moderators and charged fees for account verification, causing users to abandon the platform.
INCREASED UNCONFIDENCE
In the process, Trump’s account was reactivated and Twitter was rebranded as “X.”
The rise of far-right content, hate speech and bot accounts on the platform has increased unrest among X users.
The Guardian and Observer newspapers have stopped sharing content on the site, saying they no longer find it usable.

Author Stephen King left the platform, saying X had become “too toxic”. Famous artists Barbra Streisand and Jamie Lee Curtis have also left X.

There is also talk of a merger between X and Trump’s far-right platform Truth Social.

In such a case, whose interests will be the priority? Will Musk support the authoritarian regimes he does business with instead of criticizing them? Or will it be the other way around?

Mark Carrigan claimed that X will become a “political super app” to spread Trump’s ideas.
He stated that this situation could overshadow Facebook and Fox News in the Republican Party’s digital strategy.

However, it is predicted that this cooperation may not be long-lasting due to the different visions and conflicts of interest of the two leaders.

While Trump is pursuing a tough policy against China, China is one of Tesla’s biggest markets.

Similarly, while Trump is campaigning against electric vehicle production, Musk is leading this sector.
