According to a statement from the Palestinian Civil Defense Organization, the Israeli army carried out an airstrike on tents sheltering displaced civilians in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, which had previously declared a “safe zone” and forcibly displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
At least 11 people, including women and children, lost their lives in the attack, and 15 people were injured.
The fire that broke out after the attack and the moments of terror that followed were captured on amateur cameras.
The Israeli army did not make a statement about the purpose of the attack.
