Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
It was announced that Foreign Minister Israel Katz would replace Gallant as the new Defense Minister.
The country’s new Foreign Minister is Gideon Saar.
“A CRISIS OF TRUST HAS EMERGED BETWEEN US”
Netanyahu said that a crisis of trust had developed between him and Gallant that did not allow him to manage the war. Netanyahu added, “I have tried many times to close the gap between us, but it has only widened.”
Gallant stated, “Ensuring the security of the State of Israel has been and will always remain the mission of my life.”
HE HAD PREVIOUSLY ATTEMPTED TO DISMISS
It was known that Netanyahu and Gallant were on bad terms. The Israeli Prime Minister had previously attempted to dismiss Gallant, but backed down from that decision following protests.
