The Israeli news site Ynet claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant were not authorized for the planned retaliatory attack on Iran at the Israeli Security Cabinet meeting held yesterday.
The timing of Israel’s retaliatory attack on Iran continues to be a matter of curiosity.
While no statement was made following the Security Cabinet meeting held in Israel yesterday, Israeli media made some claims regarding the meeting.
According to a report by the news website Ynet, the cabinet did not authorize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for the planned retaliatory attack on Iran.
The meeting lasted six hours, the report said, and it was alleged that cabinet members considered approving the plans at the last minute in order to keep the possible attacks as secret as possible.
Israeli ministers also reportedly expressed their disappointment at the lack of a strong response to the drone attack on Netanyahu’s home in Caesarea over the weekend.
