The Israeli press reported that at least 6 Israeli soldiers who participated in the clashes in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon committed suicide due to psychological problems.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that at least six Israeli soldiers who became psychologically deteriorated after serving for long periods in Israel’s attacks in Gaza and Lebanon in recent months committed suicide.
It was noted that the number of Israeli soldiers who have committed suicide is estimated to be higher, but the Israeli army has so far refused to share official data on this issue and has stated that it will share this data by the end of the year.
It was reported that thousands of Israeli soldiers applied to mental health clinics established by the Israeli army, as well as psychologists on duty in the field. It has been indicated that approximately one third of Israeli soldiers whose psychology was affected by participating in Israel’s attacks in Gaza and Lebanon are suffering from “post-traumatic stress disorder.”
It is predicted that the number of Israeli soldiers whose psychology is damaged due to the war will be higher than those who are injured.
Military experts have reportedly predicted that the true extent of the psychological crisis among Israeli soldiers will become apparent when the Israeli army returns to a “semi-normal life” after the fighting ends.
The head of the Israeli army’s mental health department, Lucian Lior, told the Haaretz newspaper in March that around 1,700 Israeli soldiers were receiving psychological treatment.
Since October 7, Israel has killed 44,056 Palestinians, including 17,492 children and 11,979 women, and injured 104,268 people.

While thousands of people are still reported dead under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is also being destroyed by targeting hospitals and educational institutions where people take shelter.
