A passenger plane belonging to the US low-cost airline Spirit Airlines came under armed attack while preparing to land in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. It was reported that as a result of the attack, the plane made an emergency landing and one of the crew members was injured. Last month, a UN helicopter was also hit by gunfire over Port-au-Prince.

The passenger plane, which was flying from Florida to the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, was diverted to Santiago, the capital of the Dominican Republic, after it was attacked as it approached the airport.

Spirit Airlines announced that the plane was attacked and out of service while landing in Santiago.
It was also reported that a crew member was injured during the attack, and there were no injuries among the passengers.
Images circulating on social media showed the bullet passing near the rear exit door and hitting the overhead compartment across the aisle.
ALL FLIGHTS SUSPENDED

The passengers were reportedly taken back to Florida on another plane.
