In the documentary broadcast by the US broadcasting platform HBO, it was claimed that Satoshi is Canadian Bitcoin developer Peter Todd. Todd denied the claims that he is Satoshi in a post on his social media account. Comments were made that the claims in the documentary, which the crypto world was eagerly awaiting, were unfounded. It was stated that no definitive evidence was presented in the documentary titled “Money Electric: the Bitcoin Mystery” to support Todd being Satoshi. DID HE POST INSTEAD OF SATOSHI? Award-winning filmmaker Cullen Hoback’s documentary drew attention to Todd’s interest in cryptography at a young age. The relationship between Todd and Adam Back, who communicated with Satoshi via e-mail, was emphasized. Some indirect evidence, such as Satoshi’s use of British/Canadian spelling and Todd being Canadian, was emphasized. It was noted in the documentary that a forum post from 2010, in which Todd responded to one of Satoshi’s posts, was the most tangible evidence. It was argued that the post in question was a continuation of Satoshi’s post but was mistakenly sent from an account with Todd’s name instead of Satoshi’s. WHO IS PETER TODD? Todd is among the early developers of Bitcoin. Todd, who is known to have communicated with Satoshi on crypto forums in 2010, played an active role in the development of Bitcoin. Todd, who graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, said he was around 15 years old when he first started communicating with important crypto influencers known as cypherpunks. SATOSHI ALLEGATIONS Attempts to uncover Satoshi’s identity have previously failed. There have been speculations that Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, Adam Back and Craig Wright could be Nakamoto. There have even been theories that Satoshi may not be a person but a group.
