The richest person in the world, Elon Musk, also included Microsoft in the artificial intelligence case. Musk claimed that Microsoft and OpenAI were trying to create a monopoly.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk added antitrust claims to the lawsuit he filed against OpenAI, the developer of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, and also included Microsoft, which invested in the company, in the case. The amended complaint alleged that Microsoft and OpenAI were trying to illegally monopolize the creative artificial intelligence market. The antitrust allegations were added to the initial complaint filed in August, and Microsoft has also joined the lawsuit. The new complaint describes OpenAI’s close relationship with tech giant Microsoft as contrary to the company’s commitment to public, open-source AI. In his initial complaint, Musk accused OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman of violating contractual terms by prioritizing profit over the public good in the effort to develop AI.
