California-based chipmaker Nvidia surpassed Apple to become the world’s most valuable company in terms of market value.
Nvidia’s shares traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange gained 2.84 percent on Tuesday, rising to $139.91 per share. The company’s total market value reached $3.43 trillion with the increase in its shares. Thus, Nvidia, which surpassed Apple’s market value of $3.38 trillion, received the title of world’s most valuable company for the second time. Nvidia’s stock has gained 182.5% since the beginning of the year as demand for its AI chips has surged. Nvidia’s market value surpassed $3 trillion for the first time in early June.
