Philippines hit by typhoon: Evacuation orders issued to 2,500 villages

Evacuation orders have been issued for 2,500 villages across the country due to Typhoon Toraji that hit the Philippines. While some plane and ferry services were canceled, material damage occurred in many regions.

The Philippines, which had just recovered from the effects of Typhoon Yinxing, was hit by Typhoon Toraji this time.
Typhoon Toraji made landfall near the town of Dilasag in the Aurora region at around 8:10 a.m. local time today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced.
It was noted that evacuation orders were issued for 2,500 villages due to the typhoon, which caused heavy rainfall and winds reaching 130 kilometers per hour in large parts of the country.
While it was announced that some plane and ferry services were canceled, it was also announced that many schools and government offices in risky areas were temporarily closed. Material damage caused by heavy rain and winds was reflected on amateur cameras.
Typhoon Yinxing, which hit the Philippines last week, caused one death and caused material damage in many areas.
