Russia strikes northern Ukraine: 10 dead, including two children

Russian forces launched a missile attack on a residence in the city of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, killing 10 people, including two children, and wounding 55 people, including eight children.

Russia and Ukraine have been targeting civilians on each other’s territory since 2022.

Russian forces launched a missile attack on a nine-story building in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy.

Ten people, including two children, were killed in the attack, while 55 people, including eight children, were injured. Many vehicles were burned and rendered unusable.
“The city of Sumy turned into hell on Sunday evening, a tragedy that Russia has brought to our land,” the head of the Sumy Military Administration Vladimir Artyukh said.
Artyukh said another missile attack on the city was also critical. It hit the structure and left the city without electricity.
The Ukrainian Emergency Services reported that more than 400 people were evacuated.
A statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 59 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed during the night.
According to the statement, two of the destroyed UAVs were heading towards the capital Moscow, while 45 UAVs were shot down in the Bryans region.
The other UAVs were shot down in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Tula regions. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said, “According to initial reports, there is no damage or loss of life where the debris fell.”
