A shocking murder case took place in the US state of Georgia. A mother, allegedly under the influence of drugs, killed her baby with a hair dryer. The mother, who was released on bail, was detained again a year later for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Morgan Alyson Creel, 32, of Coweta, Georgia, USA, woke up in November 2023 and noticed that her baby was unresponsive.
Creel, who immediately called the authorities, stated that she fell asleep while lying down with her baby and trying to warm her up with a hair dryer. Police arrived at the scene and found severe burns on the baby’s right side and declared the child dead.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL ALLEGATIONS Police initially investigated the scene and found Creel’s drug paraphernalia. The report states that Creel had a marijuana smoking device “on the back porch.” Creel is accused of being “under the influence of a controlled substance” at the time of the baby’s death. SECOND DEGREE MURDER CHARGES Following the baby’s death, Creel was arrested on a second-degree child cruelty charge, but was released on bail. He was arrested again a year later in January of that same year on charges of endangering traffic safety by driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the indictment seen by Fox 5 Atlanta, a grand jury had previously brought another statutory charge of second-degree murder against Creel in the past weeks.
ARREST AND COURT PROCESS Creel was arrested on January 24 and booked into the Coweta County Jail. However, as of Thursday, Creel was reportedly not on the inmate list.
