A 61-year-old woman in Brazil put arsenic in the cake she made for Christmas, causing the deaths of her two sisters and nephew.
Terezinha Silva dos Anjos, 61, who lives in the city of Torres in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, put arsenic in the cake she made for Christmas.
Anjos put high amounts of arsenic in the cake she made for her guests who had gathered for the Christmas celebration, causing the deaths of her two sisters and nephew.
Tatiana Denize Silva dos Anjos, 43, Maida Berenice Flores da Silva, 58, and Neuza Denize Silva dos Anjos, 65, who ate the cake, lost their lives, while Anjos, who made the cake, her 10-year-old nephew and another family member were taken to the hospital.
In a statement made by the police, it was noted that the autopsy results of those who lost their lives in the incident on December 23 showed that arsenic, a very strong poison known as a poison that causes nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, was detected in the bodies of all three.
HER HUSBAND’S GRAVE WILL ALSO BE OPENED Stating that the husband of the woman who put arsenic in the cake also died of poisoning in September, the police noted that Anjos’ husband’s death was also considered suspicious following this incident.
The police requested that the grave be opened in order to launch an investigation into the death of Anjos’ wife.
In addition, the police announced that some expired products, including a medicine bottle containing a white liquid, were found during the search of Anjos’ home. “A medicine bottle that was supposed to have capsules was found and there were no capsules in the bottle. There was a white liquid inside and this liquid will also be examined,” they said.
